Important Update: New Safety Requirements for Pest Control Services

From January 1, 2025, new Queensland Electrical Safety Regulations will come into effect, introducing additional safety measures when accessing roof voids or ceiling spaces during our pest control and termite inspection services.

What Does This Mean for You?

To keep everyone safe and comply with these regulations, the mains power will need to be switched off at the meter box before our technicians can enter the roof or ceiling spaces.

Key Details:
Power Off Required:

Please ensure the mains power is turned off by you or someone you nominate. If you're unsure how to do this, a qualified electrician can assist.

Short Duration:

Power will typically be off for no longer than 10- 20 minutes. Our technician will let you know when it’s safe to turn it back on.

Exceptions:

If uninterrupted power is essential for medical devices or other reasons, or if you prefer not to turn off the power, our technicians can proceed with your service without accessing the roof void/ceiling space.

As a home-owner or tenant

Know that workers are required to turn off the power in order to work in or enter your roof space. Steps you can take to be prepared for the power to be turned off include:

  1. Know where your switchboard is located.

  2. Charging phones and laptops in advance

  3. Negotiating a time for the work or entry to be done that suits your work or family needs.

Why the Change?

This new procedure is all about safety—protecting our technicians, your home, and ensuring compliance with the updated regulations.
