Pest Control is not an exact science; there are many factors that can affect a pest control treatment. Whether reintroduction of a pest to a treated zone, bridging of the treatment zone or an unexpected change in weather conditions occurs at the time of the treatment. What is important to us is that we meet your expectations for a quality pest control service. This is why we are happy to back many of our pest control services with a free service period. This means, regardless of what happens to the pest treatment, if you feel that there is an unusual increase or unnoticeable decrease of the treated pest/pests we will happily return to your property and retreat as required, no questions asked.

Understanding How Your Pest Control Treatment Works
In recent years pest control chemical technology has become a lot safer and smarter, allowing us to specifically target pests. Results Home Services uses the latest and safest pest control products on the market. We are constantly reviewing new technologies and using them to provide an optimum pest control service. Many of the chemicals we use are non-repellent or use encapsulation technology and are designed to have a long term effect on the pest population.
While our chemicals have a quick knockdown effect, it may take a few weeks for all the pests hiding in your home to move over the treated zones and die. You should also consider a pest's breeding cycle and allow 4-6 weeks for your pest control treatment to take full effect. ​
Remember: It is not uncommon to see some insects during the first six weeks after a treatment, or the occasional sightings of pests during your service period. This does not constitute a problem; they will come in contact with the residual chemical and die. If the problem persists over a period of 4 weeks please contact us.
Black Ants
Our general pest control will kill surface ants and will continue to be effective throughout your pest control period, but in the case of an ant infestation, a black ant targeted pest control is recommended. We are able to offer our Termidorblack ant treatment at a reduced price with other treatments, which also comes with a six month warranty. If unsure of the severity of your problem, please do not hesitate to call us.
Silverfish
Your pest control comes with a three-month free service call out on silverfish. Silverfish usually live in close proximity to their food source. They feed on starch, cellulose and sugar. They can be found in a variety of common items such as books, wallpaper, paintings, fabrics, carpets and food debris. A silverfish infestation most often starts when the adult or eggs are transported into the home through cardboard boxes or cartons.
Deny silverfish sustenance by keeping dust and debris to a minimum, vacuum undisturbed areas regularly. Store food in containers with tightly sealed lids.
Cockroaches
Your general pest control comes with a twelve month free service warranty on cockroaches. Although your pest control will remain effective for this duration, it is not unusual for cockroaches to come in from outside. For the pest control to be effective the cockroaches will need to come in contact with the residual pest control before dying. It is not uncommon to see dead bodies from time to time. This is a sure sign your pest control is still working.
To get the most out of your pest control it is important to keep surfaces clean of food, especially at night, store food away in sealed containers. Remove areas of potential hiding places such as stacked newspaper and cardboard.
German Cockroaches
Treating a German cockroach problem often requires a 2-3 stage treatment program, as controlling German cockroaches is very problematic for three major reasons.
German cockroaches are thigmotactic, meaning they prefer confined spaces. German cockroaches are small compared to other pest species, so they easily hide within small cracks and crevices allowing them to evade humans and any eradication efforts.
Female German cockroaches only need to mate once for the production of young. After mating, and under normal conditions, they will produce, on average, 4 to 6 egg cases during the course of their lives (6-7 months), with each egg case, or ootheca, containing approximately 30 to 40 eggs, one female will have over 200 offspring in her short life.
German Cockroaches are not social and practise no organised maternal care. Females carry oothecae of 18-50 during incubation until just before hatching, instead of dropping them as most other species of cockroaches do. This protects the eggs from certain classes of predation. Then, after hatching, nymphs largely survive by consuming excretions and moults from adults, thereby establishing their own internal microbial populations and avoiding contact with most insecticidal surface treatments and baits.
The recommended treatment is to service your home or business every 4-6 weeks until the German cockroach problem has gone. Once our technicians are happy that your German cockroach problem is under control we can extend you a 3 month service free period.
Spiders
Treating spiders is all about breaking the breeding cycle. To do this we spray all appropriate external and internal surfaces of your home and complete our service with a full celling dust treatment of your roof void to stop spiders breeding in your celling. It should be noted that the spider treatment we complete is most effective on webbing spiders. Non-webbing spiders will not usually spend enough time in contact with treated surfaces.
Spiders are known to 'balloon' to reach your home. 'Ballooning' is a method where the spider spins a small amount of web to catch the wind and rides the balloon to the next destination, this is why you often find them on the windward side of your home. Spiders cannot be totally controlled in your home environment, due to the balloon transportation method used by spiders, but our service is designed to break their breeding cycle before two spiders turn into hundreds.
